Even when I was a kid, my parents taught me the importance of giving back to the community. I was a good Boy Scout. That tradition still provides direction to me today. It's not every day I help a little old lady cross the street--but, when I helped my uncle celebrate his 100th birthday--I was impressed by how long we can be on this planet. So let's make it a better place! That's why I'm involved in so many volunteer activities.

For breaks you can find me at the local theater companies or classical concerts, (only in the audience, although I used to be a mean percussionist). And for a break from the classics, I often have a country radio station tuned in-just waiting for the next Dwight Yoakam song!

I keep the tax cobwebs out of my head by excercising 4-5 times a week and used my last sabbatical to restart piano lessons—a pastime I had deserted in 6th grade. I'm now again "tickling the ivories" and avoiding practicing, just like a kid.
