James Kim is a Tax Manager with McDonald Jacobs, who joined the firm in December of 2014. He received his Bachelors of Accounting Degree from Portland State University, and prior to joining he worked at a public accounting firm in Tigard, Oregon. James specializes in complex individual taxes and entity tax with an interest in multi-state entities. He has enjoyed the work culture of McDonald Jacobs, with their focus in non-profit and their active role in giving back to the community. James moved from South Korea at the age of 13 to Portland, Oregon making this city his new home. James has found a love of hiking near the Gorge and riding his motorcycle around town, traveling to different countries and learning about new cultures. He also has experience in the automotive industry with both OEM and aftermarket. He finds the work he does challenging and gratifying, with every new project he sees a potential to improve.
